The History of SSSBCC
A Rough Timeline of the Center's History:
- Late 1970s: The Sathya Sai Baba Center of Walnut Creek was created with Swami's guidance and hosted at the homes of revered devotees, including Betty Bowman, Sheela Malkani, and a few others.
- 1990s: Krishna and Yash Chabra lovingly opened their home to host the Sathya Sai Baba Center of Walnut Creek, where center activities continued for many years in a spirit of devotion and service.
- 2002: Krishna and Yash graciously passed on the responsibility of the center—and the home itself—to Jayanti and Chandrasekar, who became the new hosts. Their devotion and hospitality have carried the center forward ever since.
- 2012: Jayanti and Chandrasekar (along with the center) moved to Concord, CA, where the Sri Sathya Sai Baba Center of Concord continues to be held today.
- May 2021: The Sri Sathya Sai Baba Center of Concord (SSSBCC) joined the Sri Sathya Sai Global Council (SSSGC).
Our center has thrived for nearly 50 years with the grace of Swami and the dedication of our devotees.
